Adam Theis is one of the Bay Area’s most innovative and versatile jazz musicians, composers, and bandleaders. A highly respected trombonist and creative force, Theis has built a distinguished career blending jazz tradition with modern influences across multiple genres.

He is the founder and director of the MilesTrain Project, an ensemble dedicated to exploring and celebrating the groundbreaking music of Miles Davis. Through imaginative arrangements and inspired improvisation, the group honors Davis’s legacy while bringing a fresh and contemporary perspective to his timeless compositions.

In addition to the MilesTrain Project, Theis is the creative director of Jazz Mafia, a genre-defying collective known for pushing the boundaries of modern jazz performance.
