Ruth Davies is one of the Bay Area’s most accomplished and in-demand jazz bassists, known for her powerful tone, deep rhythmic feel, and commanding musical presence.
Based in San Francisco, Davies has performed extensively throughout the United States and internationally, collaborating with an impressive range of jazz, blues, and contemporary artists. Her versatility and musical sensitivity have made her a first-call bassist for both touring productions and special festival ensembles.
Davies has worked with legendary performers including vocalist Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers, and has appeared at major jazz festivals, concert halls, and clubs across the country.
