Sylvia Cuenca is an internationally acclaimed jazz drummer whose dynamic playing, precision, and expressive range have made her one of the most respected percussionists in modern jazz.
Originally from San Jose and now based in New York City, Cuenca gained international recognition as the drummer for legendary saxophonist Joe Henderson, touring and recording with him during the final decade of his career. Her work with Henderson established her reputation as a deeply sensitive and powerful musician capable of supporting and elevating world-class artists.
Over her career, she has performed with an extraordinary roster of jazz greats, including Clark Terry, Kenny Barron, Ron Carter, Benny Green, and countless others.
