Fillmore Jazz Festival 2025

Top Shelf Classics is a party and show band founded by Johnny “Top Shelf” Trotman, presenting a wide-ranging repertoire drawn from Motown, classic soul, R&B, and jazz traditions. Since 2003, the group has performed in concert settings, dinner shows, and special events, developing a reputation for dynamic ensemble performances and vocal harmony.
The band’s performances feature music spanning several decades, including Motown favorites of the 1960s, soul and R&B of the 1970s, and later popular repertoire, presented with arrangements designed for live performance. Their format includes multiple vocalists and instrumentalists, allowing them to recreate the sound and style of classic recordings while maintaining the energy of a live show.
Through their ongoing performances, Top Shelf Classics continues to present repertoire rooted in American popular music traditions, combining ensemble musicianship with a focus on audience engagement and live presentation.
