Ashley Smiley is a San Francisco-born playwright, producer, performer, and arts leader whose work has helped shape the Bay Area’s vibrant cultural landscape for more than two decades. Currently serving as Theater Manager for the historic Bayview Opera House, she is a passionate advocate for artists, community storytelling, and the preservation of Black arts and culture in San Francisco. A dynamic voice in the performing arts, Ashley brings her creativity, energy, and deep connection to the city’s cultural heritage as emcee of the John Coltrane Stage at the Fillmore Jazz Festival.
